Save energy and contribute to Centre Greene!
Thanks to Hydro Québec’s new ENERGY WISE Home Diagnostic campaign, you can help two great causes in one single act: save energy and contribute to a project for the benefit of everyone in our community.
Upon completion of the ENERGY WISE Home Diagnostic questionnaire analyzing your household and appliances energy consumption, you will receive a free personalized recommendation report containing concrete measures to reduce your energy consumption.
How to participate
As part of this new campaign, for each report issued, Hydro-Québec will award $35 to the community if the questionnaire was completed online at www.wegowiththeflow.com, and $30 if the citizen chose to fill out the paper version. The amount provided for our project will be based on the number of recommendation reports issued by Hydro-Québec to participating citizens.
In Westmount, we hope to persuade at least one third of eligible customers to participate.* If we succeed, we could potentially receive $36,718 for our project. But let’s aim even higher! The municipal council has decided to use the amount collected for improving the accessibility of Centre Greene for populations with mobility issues.
All eligible Hydro-Québec customers will be receiving their questionnaires in the mail. It is more advantageous, however, to fill out the questionnaire on line at www.wegowiththeflow.com: not only is the amount contributed for each report higher ($35), but each participant will triple his chances of winning the ENERGY WISE contest grand prize: a Toyota Prius Hybrid. If you’re having problems filling out the Home Diagnostic questionnaire, volunteers are available to help. Please contact the helpline for more information. At any time, you can also call 1 800 ENERGIE (363 7443) to obtain more information on the questionnaire or the campaign.
If you have already completed your Home Diagnostic questionnaire, you can still contribute to the campaign by encouraging friends, family or neighbors to do it as well—for themselves, for the community and for the environment.
UP UNTIL NOW, OVER 1,000,000 REPORTS HAVE BEEN ISSUED IN QUÉBEC.

*To be eligible, Hydro-Québec residential customers must have had an electrical service contract at their current address for at least 12 months and have not already completed the Home Diagnostic for that same address.

After School Programme:

Tumbling Tots:
Indoor / park playground for children under 5. Come join us in the gym on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for some fun and games! 09h30-11h00am. $3.50 / morning drop-in. Coffee and snack provided.
Seniors' Luncheon:
Join us for a three-course, home-cooked meal, served in a friendly environment. We will be back in September for another season of delicious meals. Thank you to all those who attend our meals.
Sheila Lawrence Dance:
Sheila Lawrence has taught classes, choreographed new works, and given master classes in Canada, England, the Netherlands, Australia, and the USA. Her graceful and thought-provoking approach to teaching adults encourages skill development and stimulates the creative process by opening up new possibilities in dance.
Intermediate Ballet: A lyrical barre, followed by a well-constructed centre. Body and soul will be inspired by the joy of ballet and its music.
Intermediate/Advanced Jazz: A challenging class for the experienced dance student. Emphasis is on jazz ballet technique and learning intricate choreographies.
Rising Tao offers you the following upcoming courses at Centre Greene for Winter 2010:
*Tai Chi *
Sometimes called "meditation in motion" because of its graceful,
dance-like movements, Tai Chi is a gentle and relaxing form of Chinese
traditional exercise. Among its countless benefits, Tai Chi helps
rejuvenate your health by enhancing your body's immune system functions.
*Tai Chi 1 *
Learn the complete short 36-movement Tai Chi form (Wu Style). *A manual
will be provided. *Thursday 21 January to Thursday 25 March 2010
(7-8pm). This course runs 10 weeks and tuition is $100. At the Greene
Centre, 1090 Greene Ave. (just below Dorchester).
*Chi Kung*
Chi Kung is an ancient form of controlled body movement, breathing and
concentration techniques. It balances and enhances your physical,
metabolic and mental functions. It reduces stress while increasing your
mental clarity, energy and stamina.
*Chi Kung I*
Learn how to create, circulate and attract chi-energy to you. *Manual
provided. *Thursday 21 January to Thursday 25 March 2010 (6-7 pm). This
course runs 10 weeks and tuition is $100. At the Greene Centre, 1090
Greene Ave. (just below Dorchester).
Relaxation Classes for Adults:
Once a week, a chance to let go of stress and pressure. Connecting with body, mind, and spirit.
Macgregor Soccer School:
The Macgregor Soccer School is now in its fourth year at Centre Greene. Indoor group classes are offered from September to May for boys and girls ages 6 - 15. This unique program focuses on developing good technique and skills in a fun environment. Class size is limited so each player gets individual attention from a qualified instructor.
